Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a sleepy part of Montreal Island, which is known as West Island. This part of the island known as West Island can be confusing for those who aren't familiar of its purpose. Many people believe that it's an island located that lies west of Montreal however it is actually a part of the city. West Island encompasses everything between the two cities in Lachine and West. Amanda Brugel grew up on the West Island, and it is often known as the place where she was born. It is true that she was there for a brief duration. Brugel grew to be an aspiring young lady living in Courtice Ontario just outside Oshawa. When she was a child she hoped to become a performer but an unexpected expansion of her body made it impossible. According to an article by Toronto Star, she revealed her height in heels as 6 feet 1 inch tall. After I became too big for my male companions, I quit. Many former dancers turn to acting and in Brugel's situation, it was the nudge of an instructor in drama at high school which led her in the right direction. The teacher encouraged her to try out for roles in a school production. After a few auditions her options, she was eventually the leading lady of Anne of Green Gables. The show was granted the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program, where she graduated from the program in 2000, earning a degree of Bachelor's in Fine Arts. Through the years since Brugel has been offered roles in more than 60 productions across small and big screens drawing the most interest when she was offered the character in the role of Rita in the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the character Rita in the Handmaid's Tale, a series that was filmed over ten years ago.
